Custom
Jacobean period bodice with outer fabric of salmon colored silk
has 10 steel stays and laces up the front.
Overskirt in 8 yards of bronze brocade fabric, cartridge-pleated
onto a tough petersham waistband covered in matching fabric. Hidden
placket with snap closures in center back.
Underskirt in green brocade, and separate, detachable bum roll
underneath that gives this costume its proper shape.
Special thanks
to Catalya here, who models this for us. She
plays the greatest hits of the past 500 years with her cello,
viola de gamba, and harp, and asked for a costume that would make
her look like a clean peasant. I think it worked.
Corseted bodice is cute over jeans, too, and super-sexy with no
blouse! |
